Terms and Conditions

Reserving and securing a place on a course requires advance payment and in full.

Refunds and transferring your place

Course times and dates may be changed due to exceptional circumstances.  If the new time and date is not convenient to you I will try and offer you an alternative course, but if not possible or not convenient, then you will be given a full refund.

Some courses require a minimum number of participants to go ahead, if sufficient numbers are not obtained then you will be notified and entitled to change to another course or obtain a full refund.

If you are cancelling  

a)    because your baby has arrived before or during the course, you will receive a refund for your course fee proportional to the hours you have not yet attended

b)    more than four weeks before the start of the course there is a 100% refund of your course fees less a £30 administration fee

c)    between two and four weeks before the start of the course there is a 50% refund of your course fees

d)    less than two weeks before the start of the course there is a 0% refund of your course fees

e)    once the course has begun then no refund will be issued

unless I can offer your place to someone else who appropriately fits the type and timing of the course (you are also welcome to try and find someone to fill your place) or unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Disclaimer

Although I myself am a medical doctor and I am working with other qualified health professionals, these courses are not to be seen as a replacement or substitute for medical advice or for services from your own medical team.  We will not be able to provide specific individual medical advice for you or your family.  If you have specific medical concerns relating to your pregnancy or birth then you must speak to your midwife, GP or hospital doctors.  This condition also applies to all the other course tutors and outside speakers involved on my courses.

 

DATA PROTECTION UPDATE:
Be Ready to Parent is registered with the Information Commissioner’s office (registration number ZA303436) and takes the information provided by clients seriously. Clients personal details are stored securely on a laptop computer and on dropbox and access is limited to Jan Harrison, Philip Hendy and Dr Ella Rachamim, director of BeReadytoParent.  All files holding client’s details are protected by a password and software providing anti-virus protection.
The clients personal and family details as provided on our registration form and notes from phone calls and visits are held on the system.
BRTP meets the 8 point requirements of GDPR relating to holding of personal data as follows:
1) Clients have the right to access any personal information held about them.  A copy of this can be obtained by emailing ella@bereadytoparent.com
2) Clients have the right to request corrections and changes to information held about them.
3) Clients can request that any personal data about themselves is removed or destroyed.
4) Clients personal data will not be held for longer than necessary.
5) In the event of any data breeches by unauthorised persons, clients will be informed within 72 hours.
Details about the client and their family are treated confidentially and not shared with any other person, publication, agency or business unless such disclosure is required by law. BeReadytoParent holds clients name and addresses for tax purposes for a period of  at least 7 years.
